Early seeds of Assemblage’s design approach are embedded in Wendy’s silver gelatin montage photographs. After collecting and capturing fragments of the world with a film camera, she reassembled them in the darkroom to create new spatial compositions that tell playful narratives, testing our assumptions about place, culture, and being.
Assemblage takes this methodology to the third dimension through regenerative landscape design. Wendy created this work prior to discovering landscape architecture, while she worked as an artist and citizen ecologist in Brooklyn.
