City of Hudson: “Expand the Park” with Climate Adaptive Design

Last week the Hudson Valley Collaborative (HVC) had a productive meeting with our Hudson Advisory Group to discuss the four main  goals that will guide our park design. One of these goals, ‘Expand the Park’, will expand the park to higher ground in response to  more frequent flooding and sea level rise associated with climate change.  Along with ‘Prioritize Pedestrians’, ‘Enhance Nature’, and ‘Design For Inclusion’, we are proposing an adaptive plan for the waterfront that reflects the priorities Hudson has shared with us during our workshops and meetings. This is not just a plan for creating a better park now, but a plan that ensures future generations will also enjoy the waterfront!
